Use the search to see if your issue has already been posted and resolved. This will help reduce the duplication of work on our part and will allow us to contribute more time to new problems.

The subject (Topic) should reflect the problem posted with as much details as possible.

Also be as descriptive as possible in the message (e.g. software versions, error messages...)

Also please post a link to your site and page that the error is on, it will help us alot more then just saving i keep getting an error message or why dont it show up?

Just a gentle reminder to those of you who are asking for help with your forums:

DO - post a link to your forum.
DO - tell us if you are using Access, SQLServer or mySQL.
DO - tell us if this is a new problem, or just started happening.
DO - Post your question in the proper forum.
DO - tell us what version of the forum is running.
DO - tell us if you have installed any mods.
DO - tell us what kind of connection you are using.
DO - make your subject descriptive.
DO - tell us if this is a mission critical forum.
DO - search for a possible answer before posting.
DO - provide steps to recreate the problem if applicable.

Please also note: that we now have 1000 members on the site. We get daily requests to go look at sites that are having problems. Often those sites are "registered members only". You can imagine how many sites we would have to join and go thru the entire signup routine to enter the site to help the forum admin.

Please setup a demo account when this happens, not only for moderators, but there are many users in the forum that can and will help you but they don't want to go throough the time and trouble of joining another forum just for the purpose of helping you.

User and Pass can both be demo, just list it in the topic. When your problem is fixed delete the demo member.



DON'T - post HELP! as a subject. That's not going to get your question answered any sooner. It may take longer. Some persons look at the subject line for ways they can help out.

DON'T - forget that this is a volunteer system. There are no paid members here whose job is to answer your question.

DON'T - be vague in the description of your problem. "It's broken!" isn't descriptive enough.

DON'T - worry about your grammar and spelling. Only I'm anal about that, and you won't be flamed. If you are a non-English speaker and you are afraid that your message may not be clear in English, then post in your native language as well. There may be someone from your country who will have an answer for you and be able to tell you in your own language, as well as English.

Please don't use large .gif or .jpg files in your sig files. This slows down the system if you are a frequent poster. You can use up to 255 characters, but in most cases, less is better.

Doing this will help us help you better.

Do Not post the same problem in different Forums, once is enough. You will not get a quicker response by submitting a problem in different forums. Post your problem in the forum you think best fits your problem.

Please let us know if the status of the problem changes, if new information become available or if the problem as been solved and what the solution was. This will benefit everyone. If we are waiting for a reply from you and you do not within a few months, the thread will be closed.

PLEASE COMMIT YOURSELF TO YOUR THREAD TO IT'S CONCLUSION.

Do not add to an existing thread a new problem unless it is the same one. If your problem is similar but different enough then start a new thread.

If you come across a thread that you may know the solution to, then please take a few minutes to help out.

Do Not Email or PM the admins or moderators directly with a problem, unless told to by them. I prefer answering all questions in the forums, as this will help others with similar problems to be able to find answers.

You can register and post your problem/question in the Forums where I and other will be more than happy to help you.
